Leading article ! (Gazette 16 - Article 1)

Each year, the Holidays are the occasion for carrying on our quest for informations on these objects which are our passion. Ours being the bayonets, very frequently new informations, new photos or new encounters are so done.
For 2010, a trip in Greece justifying the beautiful photo heading this page, was the occasion of exceptional encounters as for the places that for the people.
An internet auction, a contact with a French speaking Greek collector was only the best way to create a new connection. This collector, Georges, collecting much more the rifles than the bayonets, is a very charming man, with a great knowledge but his schedule only allowed us a short meeting. Nevertheless he introduced me his friend Nicholas (Nikos) another collector with a less scheduled time table. We so spent together the greatest part of the day. Great connoisseur of arms, he allowed me to visit two Museums. The first is open to the public, the Army Museum in Athens, and he guides the visit with anecdotes en giving me surprising precisions. The second museum, of which he is the curator, is closed for the tourists but open for schools, is the Museum of the Military Academy. Great thanks to him for giving me this privilege!
