Articles of the GazetteBritish P07 bayonets with iraqi markings.... (Gazette 13 - Article 6)![]() If any bayonet was produced in great quantity, it is the British bayonet P07 initially intended to equip the various Marks of the Enfield S.M.L.E. (Shorts Model Lee-Enfield) rifle. The extent of the Empire meant that the number of variations issued or locally made would quite enormous, if only by virtue of the markings. Although this model is very widespread and very appreciated by collectors, few articles were written on this subject, undoubtedly due to the size of this necessary work. I thus will present to you a model with a marking very seldom met. The first photograph of this marking on a P07 was published by one of our members, Carl “Old Smithy” ZIEGLER in his DVD related to the bayonets P07. Those which I present to you are the second and the third I could examine. Now the photographs. |
