Our passion may be in danger ?

Happy New Year 2010

Good trip Christian !

On Monday July 27, we were present for your last trip with us. Surrounded by your family and your many friends, you went to join Patrick ARNOUX, your forever pal, him who too early passed last year. Sure that all the bayonets collectors already in the passionate’ Heaven will be delighted by your arrival.
I can already hear them saying to each other “finally somebody who will make us laugh, who knows the good cooking, and who cultivates the friendship like a gardener the tomatoes, with love and fidelity”
They also will be delighted by the good meals they will have with you, around a pastis, of glass of good red wine and a sausage always excellent. Here on the Earth, we remain orphans, orphans of this friendship, the friendship that you gave to us, without distinction, with good-naturely, good mood and sympathy. Your generosity was as the image of your friendship, full and permanent. Always ready to help, either around a drink or behind your stand, where “atypical dealer” you decided many of them to begin or to continue a collection preferring the good contact to the good deal by selling cheap a piece coveted by a purchaser.
Your beret so easily recognizable, upon your glasses and your famous greyish moustache, were during so many years the aiming point for everyone the bayonet counted as collectors. Often, some ones not knowing your name or your first name knew that it was necessary to go and see “the man with the beret” nickname known by all, professionals, privates, collectors and friends. Friends you had many of them, you have many of them. They were all there, from all the horizons. You succeeded in making to be together buddies who did not speak each other any more. Here is your last victory, and not the least. Side by side, around you for this last rendez vous, you joined us together. Would you be thanked for that. Good trip Christian.

Good-bye my Friend, it’s hard to...! Good-bye Erik !

You the buddy we mixed with since nearly ten years, the enthusiast collector, the lover of all the good things, and particularly of the life, you made us in this May 15 a very bad joke. You left us!
Forever epicurean, you joined us last year, at the creation of our association, in a difficult context, because you judged that friendship was to be placed at the top of the personal interests. Forever a sailor, you often returned, in the conversations to this fidelity, this uprightness which is the characteristic of the sailors. For our first General meeting in Lyon, you came from Paris, saying that a first General Meeting is not to be missed. We spent a full day between buddies, between enthusiast collectors, a very good day until these last days. We could not know we would not have any more the pleasure of meeting you, discuss the “piece of scrap” with you, because on May 15, 2009, abruptly, discreetly, you decided to draw your reverence. It is obvious that it was not your choice, and for us, as BRASSENS sang, says “Oui, mais jamais, au grand jamais, son trou dans l'eau n'se refermait, cent ans après, coquin de sort ! Il manquait encor ! ” (Never, really never, the hole he’s made in the water will be filled up. A hundred years after, holly fate, he was still missing us !).
It’s not yet a hundred years, but already your presence is lacking to us, a vacuum was created. You chose to return turn to the Mother sea, as a good sailor who respects himself. Each one of us, at any time, each time he will sail on the sea, sure I am, will have the impression that you by his side, like the dolphin jumping very close of the crafts carrying men.
Erik, I am quite sure that in this world where you are now, you met our friends collectors Patrick ARNOUX, Jerry JANZEN, Antony CARTER, Jean-Pierre CATONE, and all the others, all too soon passed over. We hope that when handling all these exceptional pieces available in Heaven, you will have a thought for us, as we are thinking of you, whom we miss so, and to you whom we miss already!
